HORSEMEN TRAVEL TO RIVER CITY SATURDAY TO FACE RAGELEXINGTON, Ky. - Fresh off a 44-37 win over Ohio Valley to open the 2007 season, the Lexington Horsemen are on the road for a second consecutive week as they travel to St. Charles, Mo., Saturday to take on the River City Rage. Kick-off in Family Arena is set for 8:05 p.m. EDT and the game will be carried live on 101.5 FM The Planet with Gary Ball and Randy Wilson. The Horsemen (1-0), who won their season opener for the fourth consecutive season, were led by running back Rayshawn Askew against the Greyhounds. Askew, who on Wednesday was named the United Indoor Football Offensive Player of the Week, rushed 11 times for 66 yards with three touchdowns. He is the league leader in points scored with 18. Special teams standout William Mulder leads the league in kickoff returns as he returned three kicks for 100 yards with a score. River City (1-0) is a new member of the UIF after joining the league from the National Indoor Football League. Lexington is 1-1 all-time vs. the Rage, who were known as the Show-Me Believers when the teams met twice during the 2004 campaign. The Horsemen won a 38-37 overtime decision at Show-Me on March 21, 2004 to open that season, while the Believers won 69-66 in Lexington on June 12, 2004. River City is coming off a 40-37 win at Evansville last week in Evansville, Ind. Running back Muhammad Abduqaadir led the way for the Rage in their season-opening win, gaining 91 yards on the ground with two touchdowns. Kicker Derek Kutz provided an important share of the River City offensive last week, making three field goals and connecting on 3-of-4 PAT attempts for 12 points. Following Saturday's game at River City, the Horsemen return to Lexington for their season opener on Saturday, April 7, at 7:30 p.m. EDT in Rupp Arena.
