LEXINGTON HORSEMEN EARN TWO UIF PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORSLEXINGTON, Ky. - Two Lexington Horsemen have been named United Indoor Football Players of the Week for Week 3, the league office in Omaha, Neb., announced Wednesday. Quarterback Kewan Dewberry was named the league's Offensive Player of the Week, while defensive lineman Ellery Moore was named the Defensive Player of the Week after the team's 70-25 win against Evansville last Saturday in Lexington's home opener. "I am proud of both of these guys for receiving these awards," Horsemen head coach Mike Zuckerman said. "For Kewan, I think it's just a matter of him gradually getting better each week and buying into what we do on offense. He's got a great supporting cast around him and I just want him to keep getting better from week to week. Ellery is just a solid defensive player and he's worked really hard in the off-season. It is really starting to pay off for him. When you've got great people around you, it really opens things up for these guys to do great things, and then be recognized with these awards." The Horsemen return to action Sunday when they play host to border-rival Ohio Valley. Kick-off in Rupp Arena is slated for 3 p.m. EDT and the game will be carried live on 101.5 FM The Planet and WVLK 590 AM with Randy Wilson. Live statistics also will be available at www.lexingtonhorsemen.com. # # # For more information, please contact: |
